We currently live in a health conscious society. We are constantly watching what we eat drink and breath. We spend countless hours at the gym, walk the dog for exercise and power walk in the mall. But are we doing enough? Are we taking the right supplements and vitamins? Research shows that in general, people are healthier than we once were. We are now more familiar with the dangers of poor nutrition and lack of exercise. Despite our best efforts to be healthy, there is still an area of the body that is commonly neglected; the digestive system.
While it may seem that this is not a relevant body system that keeps us healthy, it does in fact, play an integral role. A healthy digestive system can lead to higher metabolism and increased energy. Studies also indicate that maintaining a healthy digestive system could potentially reduce colon polyps and cancer. Additional benefits include relief from constipation, IBS and elimination of intestinal parasites.
Now, the question is, how do we clean our digestive system? Fortunately, there is a whole host of products for this, commonly referred to as “Colon Cleansers”. They come in a variety of delivery methods as well. These include tablets/caplets, teas, powdered mixtures and pre-mixed drinks. Whatever the delivery method is, the goal remains the same – to assist the body in the elimination of waste that has become impacted on the intestinal walls.
These different treatments are usually used for a period of one to three months, depending on the product. The key to choosing a colon cleanser is the amount of impact it will have on your day-to-day activities. Depending on the product, the effects can range from very evasive, requiring several days around the house (due to frequent bowel movements) to very convenient (with predictable bowel movements), allowing for the least amount of disruption in your daily routine.
Additionally, other factors that should be considered are the complexity of the treatment. The treatment can often range from simply taking a few pills several times a day, to more complex treatments that require mixing drinks, taking pills and fasting.
